Blue Wilderness Pack Trips

Join an epic adventure in Arizona’s Blue Wilderness with UTRAIL’s guided pack trips.

Take one of the most scenic horseback rides in America. The Blue Wilderness is Arizona’s best-kept secret. Hidden along the Arizona and New Mexico border, this rugged wilderness offers stunning views, dramatic elevation, and some of the clearest dark skies in the Southwest.

A Natural and Historic Journey

The Blue’s unique landscapes include slot canyons, sweeping mountain vistas, and rock formations much like what you find in Utah.

Trails on the Blue were used by Geronimo and his followers. Spanish explorers searched for gold in this rugged terrain. You will see carved mining symbols in a Juniper tree from 400 years ago. We also see historic cabins that were built in the late 1800s. Some of the cabins are still in use today.

The Blue had a successful reintroduction of the wolf, so you may see or hear one on your pack trip. Along these trails, we also see herds of elk, deer, and always flocks of turkeys.

Base Camp

Equipped with everything you need to appreciate this beautiful place. Base camp is at 6,500 feet in elevation for five days. When weather permits, we also use a second base camp at 8,500 feet in elevation.

Pricing -  $275.00/day + 9.1% tax (5-days pack trip)
